Meet Lisa

Lisa is the founder and CEO of Thrive in Healing, Co-Founder of the The Syracuse Yoga Colelctive, Counselor, Wellness Practitioner, Consultant, and Yoga Alliance Certified Trauma-informed Yoga & Meditation Instructor. Lisa’s passion for wellness began at a young age when she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder that resulted in infertility and other health challenges. Navigating our healthcare and education system to receive the care and support that we deserve can be difficult and disheartening. As a woman of color, Lisa’s firsthand experience with the lack of accessible and affordable wellness services for her family and self ignited her passion to be an agent and facilitator of change in the wellness and healthcare industry. Lisa believes that  individualized care that takes into consideration the WHOLE person and our systems is key to healing ourselves and our communities. There’s not one blanket approach to wellness and everyone's journey and experiences are unique. Lisa brings expertise from over 10 years of working across the field of psychosocial rehabilitation, substance abuse counseling, education, and alternative wellness.

As a consultant, Lisa has partnered with local non-profits, school districts, and grassroots organizations to address workplace wellness and culture. She has developed and executed programming for soft skills development for at-risk youth and community-based assets focusing on utilizing social-emotional learning to drive outcomes for youth and young adults. Additionally, she provides technical skills training and support, incorporating trauma-informed movement and mindfulness-based practices throughout.

Lisa currently works as a community-based counselor at a local behavioral healthcare non-profit and co-operates a trauma-informed, BIPOC led yoga collective in downtown Syracuse. Throughout her entrepreneurial pursuits, Lisa has partnered with numerous minority wellness practitioners on an as needed basis, offering greater value and accessibility to the community. Lisa can’t wait to work with you!
